Pain is nature’s way of telling people something is wrong. Many people, especially highly motivated gym dwellers, think pushing through the pain is the right thing to do. There’s determination, there’s simple fatigue or lack of effort; and then there’s actual physical damage. The difference between the former and real harm is important to learn. Sharp or intense pain, if it erupts in a new way; these are all signs the body wants one to notice. Continuing activity after an injury can significantly worsen the effects.
