There’s a new painless procedure to treat back pain that’s been successful in 80 percent of patients. Patients with lower back pain from herniated dics who had not responded to traditional methods were successfully treated in tests. A microprobe was inserted at the area of disc damage and radiofrequency pulses stimulated the muscles around the spine. The muscles normally contract, pulling the vertebrae together in herniated disc cases. The radiofrequency relaxes the muscles. Patients were pain free after only ten minutes of treatment.
