A new study is pointing to a promising new therapy that could eliminate back pain for the nearly eighty percent of people who endure it. Called image guided pulsed radiofrequency, it is minimally invasive. Through the insertion of a single needle near a bulging spinal disc, a ten minute session of pulsed radiofrequency energy is conducted. Over eighty percent of all patients treated were pain free a year after the procedure, and only ten percent required subsequent surgery. Hardly any required a second treatment session.
