Increasing mobility through yoga is a first-level alternative treatment for backache and back pain. Try Yoga cat thrusts where you arch your back while on your hands and knees. Do this for about 5 mins, holding each forward thrust to a count of 5. This will loosen up the tight muscles in your back besides strengthening your torso and arms as well.
Thermal heat wraps are another hands-off option that work. They help keep your back warm and act as a kind of ’sauna belt’ to ease stressed back muscles.

i have had acupuncture done on my back when I had a disc prolapse, it did help.
Also low impact gym work on core muscles helped to strengthen my lower back.

If not due to an injury make sure you do/have the following:
- Stretch a lot, especially of a morning
- Sleep on your back on a supportive mattress or sleep on your side with a flat pillow between your knees for support
- Take Motrin/Advil three times a day for 5 days (with food!!) to relieve any inflammation
- Massages/Chiropractic
- Don’t sit for long and don’t stand for long…constantly move around
- Wear arch supportive shoes
- TENS Unit…if you can get your hands on one of these, they are a God-send! It’s a small electrical unit that has electrode pads. The pads (normally 4-6) are placed on the back and you turn up the electricity. It gently massages your back and relieves a lot of tension. I used to have one of these and love it.
Good Luck!

Massage therapy will work wonders for back pain. Find someone who does neuromuscular/ trigger point therapy. You could also find someone who does structural integration or rolfing. I’ve had great results bringing people out of back pain with maya abdominal massage as well.

First you must find the cause and remove it
its all in the chair—get a chair with a good lower back rest or add a lower back rest to it if doesn’t have any.
the hot water bottle should work for you to relieve the pain.
Next, sleep on a bed with a hard mattress, its good for the back.
