Good posture is essential to help avoid chronic muscle strain and pain. One of the ways to help get good posture is to exercise, remembering to work the lower back as well to build core strength. One of the biggest offends in regards to posture and back pain is footwear, especially high heels. While we all love our shoes, high heels effect posture and how our body weight is distributed on the feet. If one can, heels should be avoided or at least limited as much as possible
- A good way to keep an eye on one’s posture is to every now and then ask oneself if one is standing properly.
- If one does have poor posture, it is most likely caused by specific muscle imbalances.
- Being in a sitting position for extended periods of time throughout the day can cause weakness in the leg muscles and cause one to slouch.
