Chronic pain experienced in either one’s neck or lower back is a huge problem experienced by many different people across the globe. Often, there are day-to-day behavioral changes people can make in order to alleviate their symptoms. For example, by remaining careful while traveling not to overexert oneself with heavy luggage can make a big difference. Additionally, practicing proper posture will also help. People who spend most of their days in a sitting position should get into the habit of taking routine breaks to get their blood flowing again. Finally, pillows should be appropriately sized, and people who are not injured and instructed to do so by a doctor should not wear any sort of brace.
- People should be careful when traveling because lugging around heavy bags can create or exacerbate chronic pain
- Be careful with one’s posture, as improper posture like hunching over a phone can be a source of pain
- Individuals who spend most of their days in a seated position should get into the habit of taking routine breaks to get their blood flowing
