Physiatrist, or someone who works with the mechanical motion of the body is the best non-surgical method of treating back pain. I talk a lot about SMR, muscle imbalances and other things to help your back but this article really clarifies things.
“Individuals who are looking for a less invasive approach to back pain treatment might consider seeing a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, also known as a physiatrist. Physical medicine and rehabilitation is one of 24 medical specialties certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties. These specialized doctors, or physiatrists, focus on non-surgical spine and musculoskeletal care.” www.corephysicians.org
I am not a dancer, nor will I ever be. However, group classes that focus on core muscles in the key to a stronger back and less pain experienced in life. The local YMCA or your hometown gym can help you.
Firefighters are smart, here is an unfolding story of someone who finally went to chiropractor.. to bad it took him to be in agony before he went…
“Doctors do not adjust. Chiropractors do. However before you can get adjusted back in alignment you need to speak with a chiropractor (or office staff) as to ice/heat motrin/aspirin/Tylenol. If those muscles are tight the chriopractor can’t get you back in alingnment. So do what you are advised to do. The sooner the better as it would seem that muscles tend to get memories that would then pull you back out of alignment.”
